University of Phoenix - the institution that pioneered degree programs for working adults and propelled online degree programs into the mainstream of higher education - has established a unique scholarship program allowing its many successful alumni the opportunity to help somebody else realize their dream of a college degree.

In 2006, in celebration of its 30th anniversary, the University launched the Paying It Forward® Scholarship Program where thirty University alumni identified thirty deserving individuals who could change their lives and the lives of others through a college education. The University awarded thirty selected recipients a full-tuition scholarship to pursue one degree in a program of their choosing at the University of Phoenix. Every year since, the University has launched another cycle of Paying It Forward® to help 30 more people reach their educational goals.
